Activity

Neurotoxin
FUNCTION: Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them. This toxin blocks rat neuronal nAChR alpha-3-beta-2/CHRNA3-CHRNB2 (IC(50)=128.9 nM) and alpha-7/CHRNA7 (IC(50)=1511 nM) (PubMed:29857567). In vivo, intramuscular injection into zebrafish does not produce any effect on the locomotion of zebrafish (PubMed:29857567). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:29857567}.
