Activity

Neurotoxin
FUNCTION: Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them. This toxin inhibits fetal and adult muscle-type nAChR (IC(50)=52.1 nM towards alpha-1-beta-1-gamma-delta/CHRNA1-CHRNB1-CHRNG-CHRND, and IC(50)=102.8 nM towards alpha-1-beta-1-delta-epsilon/CHRNA1-CHRNB1-CHRND-CHRNE). Shows potent activity on the synthetic AChR alpha-1-beta-1-delta/CHRNA1-CHRNB1-CHRND (IC(50)=16.9 nM). {ECO:0000269|PubMed:36292948}.
