Neurotoxin
FUNCTION: Produces peripheral paralysis by blocking neuromuscular transmission at the postsynaptic site. Binds to and inhibits the endogenous nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) in the human rhabdomyosarcoma TE 671 cell line with an IC(50) of 266 mM. Not toxic to mice by intraperitoneal injection or to zebrafish by injection at the back dorsolateral region. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:18384102}.
