Enhancement in uptake of pHK-PASA488 relative to pHKA488 ranged from 2.9-fold at 5 mM to 3.5-fold at 50 mM in HeLa cells. At 10mM in CHO-K1, or pgsA-745 cell lines, uptake is comparable, while at 25 and 50 mM pHK-PASA488, uptake in the mutant pgsA-745 cells was 64 6 3 and 80 6 3%, respectively, of that of the uptake in the parent CHO-K1 cells.
