Evidence 1 Activity

Activity

Neurotoxin
FUNCTION: Peptide with both antimicrobial and neurotoxin activities. Cationic AMP with antimicrobial activity against both Gram-positive bacteria (B.subtilis) and Gram-negative bacteria (E.coli and S.enterica). Shows no significant antimicrobial activity against bacteria S.aureus and P.aeruginosa, as well as the fungus C.albicans. In vivo, induces reversible paralytic activity towards the shrimp P.paucidens. May act by impairing sodium or potassium channels in the prey. {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:A0A1X9QHL1}.

Target

voltage-gated potassium channel (Kv) proton-gated sodium channel / ASIC
