Neurotoxin
FUNCTION: Snake venom phospholipase A2 (PLA2) that induces a conspicuous local myotoxic effect and moderate footpad edema. In vitro, it shows anticoagulant effects and is not cytotoxic on myoblast but is able to lyse myotubes. PLA2 catalyzes the calcium-dependent hydrolysis of the 2-acyl groups in 3-sn-phosphoglycerides. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19673100}.
