Neurotoxin
FUNCTION: Inhibits voltage-gated sodium channels without significantly altering the voltage dependence of activation or inactivation. Preferentially inhibits human Nav1.7/SCN9A (IC(50)=2.1 nM) > human Nav1.6/SCN8A > human Nav1.2/SCN2A > human Nav1.1/SCN1A > human Nav1.3/SCN3A channels. Exhibits analgesic properties by reversing spontaneous pain induced in mice by intraplantar injection with OD1 (AC P84646), a scorpion toxin that potentiates human Nav1.7/SCN9A. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:25979003}.
