Antibacterial
dbAMP classified as Antibacterial under the Anti-bacterial function class.
Active against S. typhimurium 7 strains (4 strains: minimal antibacterial dose 1.3-10 ug 3 strains> 20 ug), S. minnesota R595 and 1114W (0.12-7.45 ug) and multiple strains such as S-aureus 209P were insenstive at 20 ug dose. Peptide sequence was established in 1987 (J. Biochem. 101 (6), 1321-1330) and 3D structure was determined in 1993 (EMBO J. 12 (9), 3351-3356). Warning: the recombinant protein contains four additional residues at the N terminus (Glu-Ala-Glu-Ala) not present in the native protein. Updated 11/2014 8/2025
